Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 August 2026
This policy explains how Dr Richard Chambers (“I”, “me”, “my”) handles personal information collected through drrichardchambers.com and in the course of providing coaching, assessment, programs, workshops and speaking services.
I handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
1. What this website does not do
This site is deliberately minimal, and it is worth being specific about that:
- It does not set any cookies.
- It does not run analytics, advertising pixels or session recording.
- It does not carry trackers or social widgets.
- It does not build a profile of you or track you across other websites.
You can read this entire site without providing any personal information and without being tracked.
Two pages are exceptions worth naming rather than burying. Playing a video opens an embedded YouTube player, and the Meditation MP3s page embeds a form from my email provider. Both load code from those companies, and both are covered on the Cookies page.
2. The information I collect
The forms on this site are still being connected
Being straight about the current state, because it affects what actually happens to anything you type in.
Of the four forms on this site, only the subscribe form in the sidebar of an Insights article is connected — it sends your name and email to my email provider. The subscribe form in the footer, the “Get the Guide” form on the lead magnet, and the contact form are not yet connected to anything and do not send your details anywhere, so submitting one has no effect. Until they are wired up, email me instead and I will pick it up.
This section and the table in section 4 will be updated when that work is done.
Information you give me
I only collect what you choose to send:
- Enquiries. Your name, email address, and whatever you write in your message.
- Newsletter and free resources. Your name and email address when you subscribe or request a guide.
- Discovery calls and diagnostics. When you book a call you are taken to my scheduling provider’s own booking page, where you provide your name, email address, and any details you add about your situation.
- Clients and program participants. If we work together, I collect what is needed to deliver the engagement — contact and billing details, and material arising from the work itself, including assessment results such as the Leadership Circle Profile 360, and notes from our sessions.
Information collected automatically
When you visit, my hosting provider records standard server information: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested, and the date and time. This keeps the site running, secure and diagnosable. I do not use it to identify you.
Connections to third-party servers
The site’s typeface is served from this site itself and is no longer requested from Google Fonts.
Two connections to outside servers remain, and both may see your IP address as a result:
- Cloudflare, which serves the small icons used across the site.
- Google, because the site registers a service worker that loads a caching library from Google’s storage servers.
Sensitive information
Coaching conversations can touch on health, wellbeing and similar matters. I do not seek sensitive information through this website. Where it arises in the course of our work I collect it only with your consent, only where it is reasonably necessary, and I handle it with the additional care the Privacy Act requires. My separate professional obligations as a registered psychologist may also apply.
3. How I use it
I use personal information to:
- respond to your enquiry and arrange a call;
- deliver coaching, assessments, programs, workshops and speaking engagements;
- send you the resource you asked for;
- send you tools, articles and occasional updates, if you asked for them;
- issue invoices and keep the business records I am required to keep; and
- maintain and improve the website.
I do not sell your personal information, and I do not disclose it for someone else’s marketing.
4. Who else handles it
I use a small number of established providers to run the business. They may handle your information on my behalf, and several store data outside Australia, principally in the United States. By providing your information you consent to that disclosure. Where the Privacy Act requires it, I take reasonable steps to ensure they protect your information to a comparable standard.
| Purpose | Provider | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Website hosting and server logs | Vercel | United States |
| Booking discovery calls and diagnostics | LeadConnector / HighLevel | United States |
| Email newsletter and free resources | ActiveCampaign | United States |
| Icons, and a caching library (connection only) | Cloudflare, Google | United States |
I may also disclose personal information to my accountant or professional advisers, or where I am required or authorised to do so by law — including where there is a serious and imminent risk to someone’s life, health or safety.
5. Marketing, and how to stop it
If you subscribe, I will send practical tools, articles and occasional news about my work. Every email has an unsubscribe link and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. You can also email me and I will remove you.
If you are a client I may still need to contact you about the engagement itself. That is not marketing and is not affected by unsubscribing.
6. Security
I take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. The site is served over HTTPS, and access to client records is limited to what is necessary.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If you would rather not put something sensitive in an email, raise it on a call instead.
7. How long I keep it
I keep personal information only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, or as long as the law requires — financial records, for example, must be kept for a set period. When it is no longer needed I destroy it or permanently de-identify it. Records relating to psychological services are kept for the period my professional obligations require.
8. Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask what personal information I hold about you, ask for a copy, and ask me to correct anything inaccurate or out of date. Email richard@drrichardchambers.com and I will respond within a reasonable period, normally 30 days.
There is no charge to make a request. If I refuse access or correction I will tell you why in writing and explain how to complain.
9. Complaints
If you think I have mishandled your personal information, please tell me first at richard@drrichardchambers.com. I will acknowledge your complaint and aim to resolve it within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with my response you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
10. If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area
Where the UK or EU GDPR applies to you, I rely on the following bases to handle your information: your consent, for marketing and free resources; performance of a contract, to deliver services you have engaged me for; my legitimate interests in operating and securing the website; and compliance with legal obligations.
You also have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the handling of your information, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Use the contact details above to exercise any of these rights.
11. Other websites
This site links to third-party sites — my booking system, my online program platform, YouTube, book retailers, publications that have featured my work, and social media. Once you follow a link you are on their site and their privacy policy applies, not this one. I am not responsible for their practices.
12. Children
This site and my services are directed at adults in professional settings. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact me and I will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top. Material changes will be made clear.
